TV One Love & Hip Hop Atlanta - I AM A CHRISTIAN

Last night was Part 1 of the show Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. As most reality show reunions go everyone is dressed up in the hottest clothes along with the most expensive hair, makeup and shoes money can buy.  So I bet you are wondering why a Christian blogger would take the time to write an article about a reality show that is about lying, cheating, fighting and most importantly drama.  Well this article is not about the drama, the hair, the makeup, the shoes or the plight of the people on show, it is about being a Christian. Ms Jocelyn said loud and proud  that she was a Christian and everyone was in an uproar and some said "she was not a Christian cussing like that". WHAT! She may not fit the stereotypical church going, self righteous, bible packing, fasting, and praying Christian society has told us we need, should and can be but who has the authority to say she is or is not a Christian?  Romans 10:9 (NIV) says "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."  That's it end of discussion. If I read the scripture correctly there were no "only if" or "but" statements in it. So when did we become the Judge and Jury of who is and who is not a Christian? Christianity is not a club or secret society anyone welcomed to it. Ms Jocelyn's lifestyle is not perfect and I am not making excuses for her. Romans 3:23 (NIV) says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We are all sinners and we have all made mistakes and bad choices.  We all have room for growth and improvement. The Church is a place for the wounded and broken hearted to be healed. She like many of us is a work in progress but it does not mean progress is not on the way. Lets not Judge but Love that is what Christians do.

I am a Christian and nobody can tell me different.

Sunday Best Season 4 Episode 8

This season of Sundays Best is by far the best. Just when you thought it could not get any better it does. This year we experience the contestants coming out of the comfort zone and stretching their singing abilities. The show was opened up last night with an explosive performance by Jason Nelson. Each contest gave us something different, we heard songs by Earth Wind and Fire, Mary Mary, and Kirk Franklin, all were tastefully done and entertaining.  This season is exceptional however someone had to go home.  Both Ashford Sanders and Kizzy Walker were sent home last night. I must admit, I wanted to see Ashford go a little bit further in the competition however the Judges did not feel the same. The last four people standing are Joshua Rogers aka "Young Buck", Michael Lampkin, Danetra Moore, and Alexis Spight. For highlights of the show go to Sunday Best. SPARKLE

Plot Synopsis

From an affluent Detroit area and daughter to a single mother (Whitney Houston), she tries to balance a new romance with music manager, Stix (Derek Luke) while dealing with the unexpected challenges her new life will bring as she and her two sisters (Carmen Ejogo and Tika Sumpter) strive to become a dynamic singing group during the Motown-era.

HOW SWEET THE SOUND TOUR 2012

The How Sweet the Sound Tour 2012 will kick off in Dallas Texas at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie on Sept 6, 2012.  The event will be hosted by Yolonda Adams and Donald Lawerence. The judges will be CeCe Winans, Erica Campbell, and Bishop Hezekiah Walker.  The event will be closing in New York.  For more details and tour dates go to How Sweet the Sound.

Season 5 - Sunday Best 2012

Sunday Best is in full effect and this year competition is exciting, and full of anointed voices. I am enjoying the full of life mentor Ms. Kim Burrell and host Kirk Franklin. The judges this season are Ms.Yolanda Adams which I have nicknamed "The Truth" telling the contestants what they need to hear; Pastor Donnie McClurkin is "The Way" he is leading those contestants in the right direction; and the Fabulous Mrs. CeCe Winnans "The Light" she flashes that beautiful smile and gives each contestant good advice.
